LINECONIC
KNOW YOUR LINES.
One deck. Three ways to play.
GET STARTED
Gather 3-12 players and choose one game. Shuffle and keep the cards out of view until the caller presents the prompt.
Take turns clockwise as caller. The caller gives the prompt and checks the answer. Everyone else guesses.
GUESS THE LINE
Show the black side, keeping the white side hidden. Use the initials and source to work out the full printed line.
GUESS THE SOURCE
Show the white side, keeping the black side hidden. Name the source printed on the black side.
For example, the source answer for “I like big butts” is Sir Mix-A-Lot.
FINISH THE LINE
Keep both sides hidden. Read the opening words aloud and let everyone else complete the printed line.
Start with roughly the first third and stop before the giveaway. You do not need to count words. Choose a natural opening that leaves something to guess.
For example: “I like...” → “...big butts.”
Only the words on the card count. You do not need to continue the song, speech or scene beyond them.
SCORING
Start a 15-second timer once the prompt is shown or read. The first correct answer wins the card. The caller cannot guess.
Use the printed answer. Accents and delivery do not matter. The caller judges. If two correct answers are simultaneous and the caller cannot separate them, reveal and discard.
If nobody gets it, reveal and discard. Pass the caller role clockwise after every card. Keep all used cards out of the deck.
WINNING
First to five cards wins. If the deck runs out first, the player with the most cards wins. Equal top scores share the win.
Play again with a different challenge.
